Why we do, what we do
HEAR From the Principal
It is my pleasure to warmly welcome you to Raffles International School. A truly international school, proudly situated next to the iconic Burj Al Arab, nurturing students of over 80 different nationalities through a rigorous, engaging and inspirational British curriculum.
At Raffles International School we take great pride in providing an emotionally comfortable and academically challenging learning environment, enriched through excellent relationships with a strong focus on the positive wellbeing of our students. As one may expect, our bespoke facilities and learning environments are outstanding, but it is the people that make RIS a particularly special place to be.
Our vision is to provide world class education which empowers our students to achieve success in an ever-changing world. We achieve this through our rigorous approach to academics and nurturing relationships, providing our youngest learners with the confidence to show courage in their endeavours and the eldest to display conviction in their ideals.
Welcome to Raffles INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
A WORLD-CLASS Learning Environment
Raffles International School welcomes families from almost 100 different countries to our Nursery through to Year 13 programme.
Our youngest pre-school learners are accommodated in our nursery and follow individualised learning pathways based upon ‘Development Matters’ - the earliest stage of EYFS, depending on their language background and personal development.
This seamlessly leads into the National Curriculum for England and Wales, supplemented by the UAE Ministry of Education curricula for Arabic and Islamic Education. The Primary curriculum helps students become independent, lifelong, creative thinkers and problem solvers by identifying and concentrating on their individual strengths and areas for development.
Learners entering the Secondary School in Year 7 will continue with the National Curriculum for England which leads into GCSE/IGCSE options for Years 10 and 11. In the sixth form (Years 12 & 13) students can select to follow the A level pathway or pursue a BTEC course, both of which lead to excellent graduate placements at some of the world's top universities.
While English is our main language of instruction, language support for students developing their English language skills is provided and all teachers ensure language is no barrier to learning.
Our campus & Facilities
RIS occupies a purpose-built campus of almost 315,000 square feet of land in the heart of the Umm Sequim residential district of Dubai, close to the beach and overlooking the iconic Burj Al Arab.
At the heart of the school are three large bright atriums with classrooms opening onto these shared spaces to encourage collaboration and build a sense of community.
