Message from the Deputy Head of Secondary School

Welcome to the Raffles International School (RIS) website.

At RIS we provide a challenging environment for all of our students to develop and learn. Following the Cambridge Curriculum through Key Stages 3 (CP1) and 4 (CP2 - IGCSE), students are able to enjoy a broad and balanced educational experience, ultimately preparing them for national and international examinations as well as life after school. In the classroom, students are set personalised targets and encouraged to develop the many skills they need to become successful 21st century learners. From leadership to technology, communication to teamwork, RIS students are challenged by teachers each day to grow as young adults and to cultivate curious minds.

Outside of the classroom, RIS offers a comprehensive Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) programme in which students are afforded multiple opportunities to enhance their learning. Through a wide range of additional activities, students are able to participate in sport, music, drama, performing arts as well as receiving additional support across all academic subjects. Secondary School students are also provided with opportunities to explore the world on international trips.

High priority at RIS is placed on ensuring all learning opportunities fall directly in line with our Core Values: Achievement, Collaboration, Integrity, Respect, and Responsibility. On our mission to empower students with a rigorous, holistic and international education for success in an ever-changing world, our teachers work collaboratively with students to help them develop as well rounded, global citizens. In a community of over 90 nationalities, RIS provides a rich, diverse and multicultural learning environment.

RIS is a constantly developing school with high ambitions. Looking ahead, plans are in place to launch the Cambridge Advance Level Examinations (A Levels) in the 2017-2018 academic year. With seven new classrooms currently under construction and an ever growing Secondary School, RIS is an exciting place to both work and learn.

I hope that you will find the information on this website both useful and informative. Should you have any further questions, I would be delighted to hear from you.
